Totally refurbished and optimized with additional equipment in Denmark in 2011-2012

The yacht has undergone a thorough refurbishing both inside, outside, upside and downside - including two brand new Perkins 135 HP marine diesel engines, and a wind turbine. It is in perfect condition! With the two engines and a powerful bow thruster, the ship is surprisingly easy to operate also in harbour manoeuvre, which makes it a big favourite, also among the less experienced sailors.

Classical meets modern

Modern design and classical maritime style unites on this well build vessel. The outer lines and the navigation- and safety-equipment are characterized by modern design and the interior of the cabins and furniture represent the classic nautical style with teak-tree and marine parquet flooring. The decorative and cosy lambskins everywhere gives the final rustic finish.

Spaceous and roomy

There are in total 4 cabins, 7 beds, 2 bathrooms with shower and a big pantry with seating for 8-10 persons. The ship is very well suited for permanent accommodation, long voyages and eventually charter. With the flat double keels it has a depth of only 1,60 m and is very good for shallow waters and areas with tide.  There is both outdoor and indoor steering station.

Focus on quality and safety

In 2007 the whole electrical system was renewed with charger and inverter system of professional standard. An aluminium davit was added with a new 4 meter Dinghy Valiant 7 with 40 HP Mercury outboard engine. The wind turbine supplies the batteries and even runs a few 220 V lights making the ship independent of land wires, and there is also a 3,5 Kva generator permanently installed in the engine room for additional supply of electricity. The engine room is one-of-a-kind – huge and maintenance-friendly it is entered through the crew cabin and additionally can be opened with a huge trapdoor in the deckhouse lounge, allowing easy access of equipment. The two new Perkins 135 HP engines are connected to a central heating throughout the ship and there is more than enough space to add an oil-heating. Safety has high priority on this ship; there is a brand new high quality life raft for 8 persons (Eurovinil ISO 9650-2 Container), automatic aragonite fire extinguisher in the engine room, several electrical and manual bilge pumps, water alarms in the bilges, smoke alarms in all rooms, manual fire extinguishers, fire blankets, several rescue boxes, extra anchor, parachute sea anchor etc. The spacious bathing platform is equipped with a solid foldable ladder for easy access.

Owners comment:

This very sublime yacht has been custom built to give the feeling of a house. The generosity in the distribution of living space is absolutely convincing and not at all comparable with usual yachts of this size. A very striking and extraordinary feature is the spacious deckhouse lounge with comfortable seating for 7 people from where you can enjoy the complete panorama view of the harbour, the ocean, the bay or wherever you are – and Monte Christo will take you safely anywhere! With her you can safely explore the blue ocean voyaging, and with a depth of just 1,60 m enter the shallow waters of the beautiful calm bays on your way. She is not a racer but she has splendid sailing abilities and simultaneously offers the comfort of a motor vessel even making 10 knots at travelling speed, and with a minimum diesel use as the new engines are extremely economic. The elegant long hull is very well balanced and she has proven her seaworthiness in hard weather too.

Also the pantry is extraordinary - comfortably seating 8-10 people, eating a nice meal and fresh baked bred prepared on the Swedish woodstove cooker, which gives a wonderful dry and warm atmosphere to the whole ship. All cabins are equipped with beds that are large compared to what you find on the average yachts of this size, and 3 of them even has a table and chair. Particularly the owner’s cabin, which is located in the rear end of the ship with a big nice en-suite bathroom with toilette and shower as well as its own tiny wood burning stove. It has a large floor space, store cabinets, a reading corner with table, its own skylight and offers complete privacy. Beside it there is a nice crew cabin with two beds above each other, a sitting bench, table and store cabinets. This part of the living space is separated from the area of cooking and offering a splitting of crew and guests if desired. All portholes can be opened for light and fresh air and the two large skylights in each end of the vessel offers easy emergency exit.

The yacht is well kept and in an excellent condition. It is made through and through of certified marine construction steel – also the entire deck and deckhouse – no neuralgic connections of wood and steel, which is an immense advantage!
